A Historic Day for Hip Hop in Miami

On Saturday, August 30th, the Kendale Lakes Branch Library will transform into a hub of creativity, culture, and community pride as we host the Hip Hop Celebration Day & Recognition Month Proclamation Ceremony. This momentous event—presented by Fine Art of Hip Hop—honors the profound cultural and artistic impact Hip Hop has had on our community and the world.

This day will not only feature an official proclamation from the office of Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, but will also celebrate the unveiling of our August mural—a vibrant new addition to Miami’s public art scene, inspired by Hip Hop’s history and influence.

Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future

The ceremony will feature prominent speakers, community leaders, and advocates who have played instrumental roles in the growth of Hip Hop culture. They’ll share personal stories, insights, and reflections on Hip Hop’s evolution—from its grassroots beginnings to its global influence.

Alongside the proclamation, we’ll spotlight Fine Art of Hip Hop’s Mural Initiative, a program dedicated to creating public art that unites communities, tells powerful stories, and captures the spirit of Hip Hop. This includes our August mural unveiling and our recent public art installation in Little Havana, both honoring Miami’s Hip Hop heritage.

More Than Just an Event — It’s a Movement

This is more than a proclamation—it’s a celebration of culture, creativity, and community unity. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
