Artist Profile: Gunnr

There are currently only six Rap artists projected to perform in Coachella’s 2026 lineup. This is the lowest the California-based music festival has seen in eight years, and a considerable decline from a peak of nineteen in 2022. For many, the future of Rap music is uncertain. This Newsweek article suspects a coming decline, Complex paints a more optimistic picture, and Chartmetric proposes a hybrid-genre future. For those still looking for the classic late-2010s Soundcloud rap style, however, we have the perfect artist for you: Gunnr.
On his YouTube profile, Gunnr describes himself as “a music dude that makes videos about how I’m a dude that makes music.” His style is primarily Hip Hop, though influenced by Indie and 2000s Rock. Fans of Don Toliver will feel at home with the higher-pitched, and somewhat upbeat vocals of Areyoulistening. While the mix of ethereal and grainy that defines Dancingwiththestars will likely resonate with fans of Juice WRLD, or Lil Peep.
Gunnr is relatively new to the realm of recorded music, having released his first singles in 2022 and debut album, Silkinshadows, in 2025. Despite this, his efforts have paid off, garnering an impressive 420k monthly listeners on Spotify, as well as 159k Subscribers to his YouTube channel as of September 2025.
Gunnr’s talents do not stop at simply recorded music. As alluded to in his YouTube bio, he also produces content geared toward helping other artists succeed and build careers of their own. Videos such as How To Grow, I didn’t Stop Stream Until I Made a Hit, and How to Pitch Your Songs are sure to be very helpful to any musician oriented towards the upward trajectory. One such video even features Dave Blunts as a guest star. On his website, lilgunnr.com, you will see fairly little about his musical career; he has instead set up a shop selling hardware and software for creating music. On his website are vocal and master presets, as well as equipment for microphones and soundproofing.
It is safe to say Gunnr is not just a musician. As his YouTube bio states, he is a “music dude” who helps other artists enrich the world with their unique sounds and generate interest in them. You can find Gunnr on Spotify, Instagram, Twitter/X, and of course, YouTube. To support more indie and upcoming artists like him, be sure to follow some of the playlists in Conundrum Records’ network.
