Artist Profile: ZincXD

September 28, 2025 was a big day for Rap music. Through a mixture of Apple Music, Roc Nation, and the NFL themselves, the public found out how Bad Bunny will be the headliner of Super Bowl LX in February. This marks the fourth consecutive year of hip hop artists headlining the show, as well as the first hispanic artist to do so in five years. With 49.3 million Instagram followers and a position as Spotify’s 12th-most popular artist as of September 2025, it is safe to say Bad Bunny is doing more than OK in the public eye. Instead, we’d like to highlight a smaller-time, more underground Hip Hop act today: introducing ZincXD.
Soft vocals, an atmospheric sound, and emphasis on melody place Zinc as a veteran of the Emo rap scene. He is a more recent addition to the genre, having released his first music in 2021 and full-length album, NOVA, earlier this year. “<3KILLER,” his most popular song on Spotify with over 116,000 streams, features a clicky, clapped-out drum machine beat behind deep, lo-fi rapping that is sure to evoke Playboi Carti comparisons. Off of NOVA, the song of the same name has emerged as another hit. It’s windy, wavy melody and “SUPERNOVA!!!” chants will get any party moving in a way dancing for yourself, rather than words, could better express.
