Latin Music Hits $540M in U.S. Revenue, Led by Vinyl Surge

Latin Music's Growth Continues Strong
Latin music's U.S. recorded revenue for the first half of 2026 reached $542.2 million, marking a 13th consecutive year of growth. This 8.6% year-over-year increase underscores the genre's sustained momentum, even as overall industry trends fluctuate.
Streaming and Vinyl Lead the Charge
Streaming remains the dominant revenue source, contributing $308.4 million from subscriptions and $177.8 million from ad-supported platforms. While ad-supported revenue dipped slightly, subscription growth remained robust. The standout performer, however, was vinyl, which saw a staggering 291.2% increase in sales, generating $13.7 million. This surge was largely fueled by high-profile releases like Bad Bunny's album and his Super Bowl performance.
What this means for you
For independent Latin artists, these figures highlight the growing appetite for diverse musical experiences. While streaming offers broad reach, vinyl's resurgence presents a unique opportunity to connect with fans through physical media. Consider exploring limited edition vinyl releases or exclusive vinyl content to engage your audience.
Moreover, the data suggests that strategic partnerships and high-visibility events can significantly boost an artist's profile and revenue. As the industry evolves, staying adaptable and open to new opportunities will be key to long-term success.
