Sam Fender's Heartfelt Tribute
North Shields native Sam Fender has delivered a stirring cover of The Rolling Stones' classic 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' for the U.K. retailer John Lewis' much-anticipated Christmas advert. The track features the John Spence Community High School choir, Fender's alma mater, and the Easington Colliery Band, adding a local touch to this iconic song.
Mick Jagger's Stamp of Approval
Fender's rendition has caught the attention of none other than Mick Jagger, who expressed his admiration for the cover. 'I'm a fan of Sam's work, so I was pleased to hear he was covering one of my songs. I think he's done a great job with it,' Jagger stated. The cover is available as a 7” single and CD, with all net proceeds benefiting the Teenage Cancer Trust.
