My Chemical Romance's Animated Short Film Features Indie Stars Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish

Indie Music Icons Join My Chemical Romance's Creative Project
My Chemical Romance has just released 'Prelude to the End,' an animated short film that features an impressive lineup of voice talent, including indie music darlings Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish. The film, created in collaboration with visual artist Lauren Tsai, tells the story of Astrid, a boarding school student who discovers a fantastical world after falling down a garbage chute. Bridgers voices Astrid's sister, while Eilish portrays her close friend, adding their distinctive vocal styles to the narrative.
A Fusion of Music and Animation
The film also incorporates a live recording of Pascal Dusapin's 'Flying River, Violin Concerto,' performed by Utopia Orchestra and conducted by Giuseppe Mengoli. This blend of music and animation highlights the band's ongoing commitment to creative experimentation and collaboration. The project arrives on the heels of the 20th-anniversary reissue of their iconic album, 'The Black Parade,' which they celebrated with a special performance at the When We Were Young festival.
Upcoming Screenings and Tour
My Chemical Romance plans to screen 'Prelude to the End' at their upcoming Hollywood Bowl shows on October 30 and 31, marking the final two nights of their five-night residency in Los Angeles. This tour is part of their larger celebration of 'The Black Parade,' which has been resonating with fans old and new.
